Today on our one-hour of exercise we were walking along the street when I noticed two little wattlebirds (Anthochaera chrysoptera) hopping around in someone's garden. At first we thought it was and adult red wattlebird with its youngling because there was a big one and a small one. Then I noticed the big one had no wattles. I can't have been a red wattlebird then. I looked up wattlebirds in my bird book and found they were little wattlebirds. The birds were hopping around and looked like they were searching for something.
