At Methven park today I saw a flock of about 30 galahs! The galahs (Eolophus roseicapilla) where sitting on some power lines across the road from the park. They where quietly squawking and occasionally flying off to another spot on the power lines. Sitting on a wooden post on the other side was a magpie (Cracticus tibicen) which was flying at the galahs trying to scare them off! One galah even took off and was chasing the magpie! Luckily no birds got hurt and the galahs flew off to find another power line to sit on.
